Much like Byron Burger, I was pretty late to the party on this one. Bill's restaurants have been all over London and beyond for a while now, but a only landed in Nottingham in July 2014 and it took me until last month to make the visit, it has been on the list a while though.

Bill's started as a little café attached to a green grocers in East Sussex, it's humble beginnings and promise to just deliver good honest comfort food are evident from the moment you walk in. Although now the decor is less green grocer and more North American Grill/French living the Bill's branded produce lining the walls is a nice nod to this.

The menu is full of classics like chicken caesar, which I had, burgers, fish pie and sea bass with a few quirkier items thrown in such as 'mac n cheese' with asparagus and leeks and kale salad, less likely to be found on many British menus. I was impressed with the choice actually as 'chain' restaurants often lack imagination, but Bill's definitely doesn't feel like a chain restaurant in any way. Telling from the amount of people in the place, there is definitely something for everyone.

Tips.
- Book a table and ask for a window seat.
- Get an Amaretto Sour (hold the egg white).
- Get the chocolate pudding.

Have you been to a Bill's Restaurant yet? What is your favourite thing about comfort food?

Until next time,

Love&Kisses,

Mel

  1. I recently went to Bill's for a work breakfast in Cheltenham and was amazed by the quality of food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere was brilliant and I can see it becoming one of my fav places to go to. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and amazing pictures, I'll return soon to Bill's so I can try out their dinner menu. Hope you're well and we'll speak soon xxx
