Help Me Save My Scalp | beauty

Hello Beautifuls,

Warning: Todays blog isn't glamorous. I need help. Find me a Scalp Saviour.

I have a little battle on my hands. Somewhere in the machine of beauty genius', the message of wanting a itch free scalp and silky shiny locks at the same time got lost, or maybe I just haven't found it yet.

I always prided myself on my hair. It's never been crazily amazing or anything, it has just always been good to me. However an issue has arisen over the last couple of years. Whether it's because I dye my hair more frequently, the amount of different styling products I use or ever styling itself, I can't seem to get rid of my itchy scalp without ruining the rest of my hair.

A few times I have felt I have found the solution somewhere within the plethora. Head&Shoulders, Aussie MiracleMoist, Botanics Brunette Shampoo, Simple and many more. Even so, they all seem to work for 6 weeks period, then the results just to wear off.

Honestly, Head&Shoulders had the best effect on my scalp. Unfortunately in doing so, it drained my hair colour, gave me greasy roots and frazzled my ends, so we had to part ways. My current routine is E45 Dry Scalp Shampoo and Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner. Its working ok, but not currently giving me Rachel Bilson, Melanie Inglesias locks I desire, along with the soft, soothed scalp of… Ok there are now similes for that one.

Argan Oil is my little liquid gold and when I use it religiously it can combat the driest of ends and add shine.  Though because I use so much to rehydrate my hair, it can sometimes weigh it down. Even one of my faves can't win!

Finally I will say, on top of my beauty wishlist, or should I say, will buy on payday but shouldn't list, is the, Espa Pink Hair and Scalp Mud.

I've never delved into the world of hair masks before so I will be reporting back on that one, but if anyone is already a fan or have used this before then please, let me know.

So ladies in closing I ask, can anyone recommend a tried and tested routine, product or trick?

Until next time,

Love&Kisses,

Mel

  1. My scalp psoriasis has plagued me for years and I'd tried everything from drug store brands to the hardcore prescription stuff. Nothing worked for me. Either I had a dry, itchy scalp and glossy hair or dull, faded, dry hair and temporary scalp relief.

Then one day I read about the Philip Kingsley range. I thought I'd give it a go and have never looked back.

I use the "itchy flaky scalp" shampoo & conditioner as well as the scalp toner. AH. MA. ZING. I also recommend the much blogged about "Elasticiser" hair mask which I use about once a fortnight/a month to make my hair super conditioned. You can buy them from all the usual places, feel unique, beautybay (QVC have giant bottles!) but I first got a travel sized kit from John Lewis to see if it suited me. :) Hope it helps!
